MEET OUR 2024 DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES

Highly Qualified with Proven Records of Accomplishment,

and Priorities to Continue to Deliver Results for all Americans.

In this election, we joined together behind three simple truths that have sustained our nation over these last 246 years. We value our freedom, we cherish our democracy, and we love this country. Because all across this Commonwealth, you chose to take off the red jersey and the blue jersey and wear the Pennsylvania jersey, a jersey that brings us together. Each of us has a responsibility to get off the sidelines, get in the game, and to do our part.

So the job is not done. The task is not complete.

Excerpts from Josh Shapiro’s acceptance speech for Governor of Pennsylvania 2023

PRESIDENT: JOE BIDEN

When he took office in 2021, President Biden delivered bold action and relief for American families as the country grappled with several converging crises. With VP Kamala Harris at his side, he took immediate action on controlling the COVID-19 pandemic and providing economic relief to Americans. Since he’s been in office, he has:

  • lowered costs for everyday expenses, including prescription drugs

  • started the job of rebuilding American infrastructure

  • jump-started the economy so that more Americans are working than ever before in US history and we are manufacturing more products here in the US

  • expanded benefits & services to veterans exposed to toxic substances

  • enacted the first meaningful legislation in 30 years to reduce gun violence

  • delivered on the most aggressive climate and environmental justice agenda in history

SENATOR: BOB CASEY

The words "all public service is a trust, given in faith and accepted in honor” are inscribed over the front door of the Finance Building in Harrisburg, and are principles that have guided Senator Casey throughout his time in public service. Since he was elected to the US Senate in 2006, he has fought for the needs of workers, children, and families in the Commonwealth and across the Nation.

STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL: JACK STOLLSTEIMER

Only Jack Stollsteimer is uniquely qualified to deliver the kind of improvements in community safety, criminal justice policy, civil and reproductive rights, and environmental justice that we need in Pennsylvania. While a lot of candidates talk about making us safer, Jack has actually done it.

STATE TREASURER: RYAN BIZZARO

“My public service is dedicated to putting people first and fighting back against extreme agendas, politicians, and special interests that hurt them. I’ve introduced legislation to expand veteran services, senior citizen services, animal rights, voting rights, first-time home buying assistance, and health care. I am a longtime supporter of our police, fire, and medical first responders. I take a backseat to nobody when it comes to being an advocate for working people and the labor unions who help build our country while providing workers with safer working conditions and fairer pay with benefits. Now I’m running for State Treasurer to protect Pennsylvanians. Protect our assets. Protect our pensions. Protect the programs that make a positive a positive impact.”

STATE AUDITOR GENERAL: MALCOLM KENYATTA

“I’m running for Auditor General because it’s time for the underdog to be the watchdog for Pennsylvania’s working families. To ask the tough questions, to help reimagine and streamline government, and to build the coalitions to fix what’s wrong. It’s what I’ve done as a State Representative for half a decade – and it’s the work I’m ready to continue.”

US HOUSE (6th DISTRICT): CHRISSY HOULAHAN

Pennsylvania’s 6th district is a “purple place,” and Chrissy is working hard to build relationships with colleagues from across the political spectrum to deliver for our community. In a time of extreme partisan politics, Chrissy is a leading voice in promoting civility and decency in our political discourse.

PA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES (167th district): KRISTINE HOWARD

Kristine, a graduate of University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers Law, has served as the director of a social services and legal aid clinic, represented children in foster care, and worked as a child abuse investigator. Kristine has become the Democratic Caucus go-to-expert for issues of child welfare. Kristine was first elected in 2018 and currently serves on Children & Youth, State Government, Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Veterans' Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committees.
